The Baghdad series is inspired by a thirteenth century manuscript from Baghdad now in the Topkapi Museum in Istanbul illustrating the ‘Kalila wa Dimna’ fables which depicts mans vices through the stories of animals and in particular twin dogs. The series date from the start of the invasion of the allies into Iraq and has retained the decorative quality of the origional manuscripts.
